2027 CALENDARS AVAILABLE SEPTEMBER 16, 2026
I'm an animal lover...cats, mice, donkeys, birds & beyond. I was the pony crazed kid, the one who brought a kitten home to my Mum in a cardboard box when I was in about the 2nd grade. The kid who volunteered to keep the elementary classroom pet alive over the school holidays (with varying degrees of success.)When I turned to art full-time nobody was surprised that nature & the animal world was my greatest source of inspiration.
My art journey has been so fulfilling for me. I feel fortunate to be able to do what I love. I wanted a way to give back in some small way to that which I find so inspiring. I wanted to create something with my art that could grow into something impactful. A calendar seemed like the perfect fit. A Desktop calendar on a small wooden stand appealed to me - small, decorative, giftable, affordable and useful. I began in 2023 with the 2024 calendar.
Not my best work - the height width ratio was off and I found the floppiness annoying but thank you, thank you to everyone who supported me then.
But where would I give the profits? Turned out to be an easy choice. One spring day, both my Jack Russell Terrier & my cat were agitated at the kitchen window. That got my attention & a small yellow finch was lying seemingly catatonic on the grill cover outside. I was panicked. Was it dead? Had it struck the window? I called Mass Audubon who directed me to Cape Ann Wildlife. Jodi took my call & walked me through step by step how to give this sweet little finch a chance to recover. She was calm and thorough & gave me very detailed instructions all of which I carried out to the letter. The next day before dusk the finch flew off as though nothing had happened. I explored the tireless work that Cape Ann Wildlife do & realized that here was a small, grass roots non-profit that could use my small donation & benefit from some publicity and exposure.
In the second year I implemented several improvements & I took a chance & ordered a higher volume confident that I could sell them & make a larger donation to Cape Ann Wildlife. Mission accomplished - all the 2025 Calendars had sold out by December 2024.
In 2025 I enlisted professional help - an amazing designer who does a wonderful job and tolerates my abundance of “good” ideas. It was necessary to increase the volume once again in order to make enough to meet my fundraising goal. You did not let me down. Thank you! 2026 Calendars also sold out by December 2025.
So here I am, fresh off the studio floor where I have been reviewing and editing the 2027 Calendar. Family & friends look it over for me - everyone gives me conflicting advice:-) Everyone has their favorites and ultimately I go with my gut...let's hope 2027 is as well received! We are almost ready to send it to the printer. I’m planning to order even more this time - Cape Ann Wildlife always needs assistance & exposure as they tirelessly rescue, rehabilitate and release wildlife. I hope you enjoy the 2027 Calendar!
This little desktop calendar only takes up 5" but will bring you tons of joy! Each month features a favorite animal drawingor painting by me & an easy to read at-a-glance monthly calendar. Pick your favorite & maybe pop it in a tiny frame for keeps. Each comes with its own natural wood stand. If you already have a wooden stand just let me know - you can choose to pay $5 less or I can give an additional $5 to Cape Ann Wildlife.
